Did luxury jewelry intervene in the creation process of Sérénité Collection d’Art by Waterman?

In collaboration with Waterman’s precious metals workshop, luxury jewelry specialists have produced the rings on Sérénité Eau, Sérénité Terre and Sérénité Feu.

Conceived by Waterman, the Sérénité Eau ring is an original jewel made of solid silver and produced by a French jeweler: Nicolas Drouet. He chose the lost wax casting technique. Out of each mold comes a new and unique jewel. Under the inspired fingers of the artist, each ring goes through an ultimate finishing, succession of handwork and luxury jewelry techniques that gives it its final aspect: matt-glossy execution, undulation of the relief, sensitiveness of the touch.

For the Sérénité Terre and Sérénité Feu rings, Waterman appealed to Juliette Pailler-Chaineau, a French artist specialized in luxury jewelry. Sculpted from a block of solid silver, the Sérénité Terre ring relates the story of a slow metamorphosis. The extreme precision of the bas-relief details requires many stages alternating hand engraving and engraving with acid. For Sérénité Feu, the solid silver ring is first engraved and then gilded with fine gold. The acid engraving technique uses the application of successive chemical layers and allows the creation of sophisticated reliefs as well as different surface effects. Only the experience of an expert in luxury jewelry can achieve finishings of such great complexity.
